s7300924Bio: Born August 1, 1970 in Wilmington, Delaware. But in a way I had not truly lived until sometime c. 1983 when I first walked into Captain Blue Hen Comics. Grew up in northern Delaware and graduated from the University of Delaware. Currently residing in sub-rural Cecil County, Maryland with my wife, son, daughter, dog, and 2 cats.

First comic I ever read: I don’t remember, but I started reading comics by the pile in the late ‘70s. A friend of the family let me read tons of his Silver and Bronze Age DCs—mostly war and mystery comics and third tier characters like Challengers of the Unknown. The first comics I ever owned (and still have) were Conan #75 and Hulk #212.

First current book in the pile to be read: Captain America, Walking Dead, and Ex Machina are current favorites that never fail to please.

Top Nerd Creds (in no order, I owe the comics-related ones to Joe):

modokcries1. Got a personal tour of the DC Comics offices that included the Mad Magazine floor and the DC Library which archives every comic they ever published (yes, they have Action Comics #1 there!)

2. Watched a scene of Batman Begins being filmed in Chicago.

3. Have had personal conversations with Jim Lee, DC Comics President & Publisher Paul Levitz, Brian K. Vaughan, David Michelinie, Frank Cho, Vertigo Executive Editor Karen Berger, Steve Dillon, Chris Claremont and others. (Didn’t have to stand in a signing line at a convention for any of ‘em!)

4. Have appeared in two, count ‘em, two comic book store TV commercials (watch closely!).

5. On separate occasions I have sat next to Jon Fishman of Phish and Dean Ween of Ween at a bar.

Hobby(s): My kids (mostly practicing, observing, and driving them to their many sports and activities), music (listening to it, reading about it, collecting it, and seeing live shows), watching NFL football, reading non-fiction (mainly politics, social theory, and Forteana).

Collection: Music CDs (mp3s are too intangible and sound crappy) and personal mementos.

Favorite Bad Movies: Logan’s Run, They Live, The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Amazing Colossal Man, Point Break, They Call Me Bruce?, Roadside Prophets, and many, many others.
