History and Philosophy
Captain Blue Hen Comics, founded in 1980 by Paul Stitik, has been in business for close to three decades. As Paul longfully looked toward retirement from teaching and “the biz”, he chose to hand the reins to long-time employee Joe Murray and his wife Danielle. But don’t fret CBH fans, Paul is still around, he’s been promoted to Admiral, and he lends his guidance and support

Joe and Danielle continue to learn and grow as retailers, ensuring that Captain Blue Hen Comics will always bring you the benefits of our experience, quality, variety, and super service.
You may be one of those comic shoppers or web surfers who thinks they’ve seen it all. Well, does your comic shop or website have bowling shirts?! Or diner booths?! How about a distempered Aqua Fowl as its mascot? Didn’t think so…
CBH is family and new fan friendly. The emphasis is on comics-reading fun. We have a knowledgeable staff with a “get-to-know-you” attitude. We strive to make our store and website places you want to visit for comics info and to have a great time.
We have also had the rare privilege of being a Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award Finalist in 1994, 1999 & 2000 (Always a bridesmaid, never a bride).
