Writer: Brian Michael Bendis
Artist: Sara Pichelli
Marvel Comics | comic | $3.99

I don’t know how the 616 Marvel Universe will do with a different Spidey, but I know that the Ultimate Universe has a good replacement: Miles Morales. Miles is just a kid, but he has guidance from his best friend, Captain America, Aunt May, Gwen Stacy, and Spider-Woman. Somehow, Peter Parker still has a presence in the book and in the Ultimate Universe. It’s fascinating to see Pete become a legend as Miles becomes Marvel’s first high-profile legacy. This book could be Bendis’ best work. The returning Sara Pichelli should be a superstar.

There are a number of comics that both my son and I read. Ultimate Spider-Man is our favorite out of those. We can’t wait to read it every month and every time we finish one, we’re dying for the next one. How many comics can you say that about?

Marvel says:

“VENOM WARS BEGINS!!!
* Miles finally has his costume, his web shooters, and now he has his first A-list Spider-Man villain! There’s a new Venom in town and he’s hungry!
* All this, plus Miles’ new girlfriend and the return of award-winning Ultimate Spider-Man artist Sara Pichelli!”
