CBH Gets ’30 Extra Lives’

By now you know that writer Chris Roberson and artist Chrissie Zullo will be at CBH on Friday, August 19 from 5pm-7:30pm. Well, since we first announced the signing, we have added Tom Lynch creator of the webcomic ‘30 Extra Lives‘.

I enjoy comic strips in all forms, but I can’t keep track of weekly TV series let alone webcomics that come out 3-5 times a week. Lucky for me, the best webcomics eventually make it into print. Such is the case with ’30 Extra Lives’ as you’ll see when you pick up the collection Sense: Not Making Any.

I finished Sense: Not Making Any in one smile-and-laugh-filled sitting. Have you ever played a video game for 48 hours straight? Ever chomped at the bit waiting for the next issue of your favorite comic? Ever completely blown it trying to pick up a girl? Ever geek out over a movie? Then you’ll identify with the main characters Mark and Henry. Not different enough for you? There are twists (Moon Knight, werewolf hunting, poker with Frankenstein being examples). The characters are very likeable. The humor is good-natured but not this ain’t ‘Peanuts’–characters get drunk and occasionally drop a 4-letter word.

If the fact that the book is great is not reason enough to visit, what if I tell you that Tom is one of us–a loyal CBHer, tried and true. Sure, he moved to Rhode Island for a few years, but when he came home he always paid us a visit. Tom’s back in Delaware now. Support a local artist, come in on August 19!
