FRESH TO THE MARKET!
That’s a term I hear auctioneers use to describe items up for grabs–treasures that have been in private collections for years and are now available to go to a new home. If you didn’t get a chance to buy that iconic dress that Marilyn Monroe wore ($4.6 million) or Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller” jacket ($1.8 million) when Debbie Reynolds finally released her collection, we have something almost as good! Our annual 4th of July Flea Market & Collectibles Show. Okay, almost is a relative term, but you never know what will surface.
Yours truly is definitely bringing some “Fresh to the Market” material for ya. Within the past two weeks, I have bought 4 collections and will definitely be bringing them to the sale – ’cause I need to recoup the cash. One collection I picked up was from a nice couple who came to the shop. We had a great chat, we’re about the same age and had similar backgrounds, and during the conversation, it turned out that they were good friends with a family member. I ended up offering them probably too much for what they had, and they accepted. Naturally, when going through the individual issues, I see little flaws that did not pop out at me when thumbing through them initially. Still, there were a few key issues, I’ll make a few bucks eventually, but it will be slow. A gentleman came in shortly afterward and had very reasonable expectations, and I bought his collection. That was followed by a very charming, attractive woman with a box of funny animal material–Disneys and Bugs Bunny comics mostly – that have a decent “book value” but are real slow movers. Again, I probably made too high of an offer, but did not have a check book with me at the time. She said see would accept a lower amount and came back with them a few days later! The last collection was an auction buy last Friday. Anyway, I have processed these, bagged and tagged some of the better ones (these have been put in the showcases – check out the new additions), made sets of many, and will let the rest go for a dolla each at the sale. In addition, I have picked up other lots over the months that have never been in the shop. Of course, the other vendors will have “Fresh to the Market” items, also. Comics, action figures, toys, cards, beanies, movies, books, and other collectibles, as well as household items, tools, knick-knacks. NEXT MONDAY, JULY 4TH – 9 -2. Still plenty of time afterward for your picnics, barbecues, etc. All weather permitting.
Still thinking about setting up? As of Monday, June 27th, we have 3 spots left and will set up a waiting list once these go. Contact us NOW! This one looks to be our biggest one, yet!

I’ve been spreading the word about this epic event & have gotten some positive feedback. Personally,I love my family & all that jive, but it’s like this: I will get there after I’m done shopping,I never show up empty handed & I bring MomMom Buskell. If it wasn’t for MomMom,the rest of the Buskell’s wouldnt exist & there’d be no cookout for me to arrive late. Anyway,I’m also looking forward to checking out the funny animal comics Paul recently acquired. Thanks!
