Newark, DE Wins Great American Main Street Awards
And Captain Blue Hen Comics is there!
The National Trust For Historic Preservation sought out the best for the Great American Main Street Awards, and through the hard work of the Downtown Newark Partnership and the support of local businesses (like CBH!), Main Street in Newark was a winner!
The awards were handed out two weeks ago in Iowa, and today in Newark, the DNP and Mayor Vance Funk celebrated the award. This morning in the City Council Chambers DNP members were joined by city council members, state representatives, Mayor Funk, Governor Jack Markell, and CBH’s own, Dave!
Well, there were a few more folks there (other than me) representing local businesses, government, and the University of Delaware. I was honored to be there as a member of the community who supported the Downtown Newark Partnership in their bid to win this prestigious national award. My contribution was minimal, but I was allowed to join in the celebration of these fine folks who make Newark and Main Street a great place to visit and live, and for that I am grateful.
Congratulations to Main Street and the Downtown Newark Partnership!
