And then there were 16

Voting has ended for the second round of the Mensa Hero Bracket Challenge with the following results:

In the Literary Division, Gandalf defeated Hercules and will face Sherlock Holmes, who vanquished King Arthur. In addition, after knocking off Harry Potter, Odysseus goes against Atticus Finch, the winner over Albus Dumbledore.

In the Super-hero Division, all 4 top seeds are still in the running as Superman (sorry Captain America) goes up against Spider-Man, who defeated one of the last two ladies standing, Wonder Woman. Wolverine bested the Hulk and meets Batman, winner over Optimus Prime.

The top 4 seeds also went through in the Theatrical Division with Yoda (Han Solo),facing Jason Bourne (Rocky Balboa). Indiana Jones (Captain Kirk) and James Bond (Ellen Ripley) make up the other match this week.

Finally, The Historical Division features an Abe Lincoln (Charles Darwin) versus Thomas Edison (in an upset over Martin Luther king, Jr.) match and a George Washington (Beethoven) versus Albert Einstein (Issac Newton) battle.

Proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, Hunter Stitik is still leading the pack, but he might be in trouble. Of the 16 “Heroes” left, he has 12 of them. Scott Athey has 13. Hunter, Scott and Robert Madonna have all 4 still alive in the Historical category. Madonna (Robert, not the singer) also has all 4 of the Super-heroes active. Mike Ashley, second after the first week, feel into a tie for 3rd. None of these have the same grand champion; and as noted before, there is a wide variety of selections among our contestants – it’s still all up for grabs! The big board at the shop has been updated.
