Catching up with CUBANE and Pink Floyd
For those who read this blog site on a fairly regular basis, you know I use it to promote my favorite local, original band – CUBANE featuring my son, Paul, on bass.
Things have been very quiet for some time since two major events happened – Tom left the band, deciding that he needed to focus more on his education and other career and Matt has been down in the gulf helping with the oil spill. Hopefully, Matt will be returning in about 6 weeks and they will decide whether he takes over the guitar duty and the band finds a new drummer or they find another guitarist to replace Tom. But, the good news is that the guys stayed busy and have managed to write another full album during this time. By the way, their first album/CD entitled C8H8, a 14 song collection, is available at the shop for a mere $5.00. Hard to believe, but Paul claims the new CD will be even better!?
Now, what’s this about Pink Floyd? Shawn, the lead singer of CUBANE, comes from a very musically talented family. On Friday, September 24th and Saturday the 25th, Shawn and one of his brothers, Joe (of the Joe Trainor Trio), will be part of a 10 member group performing the entire Pink Floyd “The Wall” album, from start to finish with a light show and some theatrics (spoiler alert – the Wall that is built during the show comes down at the end!) at the Arden Guild Hall. The Company, as they call themselves, has performed this show at other venues over the years. For more information, purchasing tickets, etc. go to http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/114870
While I’m at it, I might as well plug Paul’s full-time profession, as a real estate agent for REMAX. Whether in the market to buy (great rates and great prices at the moment) or sell, he can make the process easier for you. New, stricter regulations regarding mortgages have made “the sealing the deal” somewhat more difficult – definitely NOT the time to be a “FSBO” – for sale by owner. Call him at 302- 383 – 7998. Whether you go with Paul or not, a word of advice: go with an full-time agent. To avoid the last minute pitfalls, you want someone who is current on the new standards, not someone who just “dabbles” in real estate as an occasional part-time job.
