Flamin’ Decrepitudeness!

Last night, John Oliver used this to describe Jon Stewart on the Daily Show. Age was the topic. I loved it, and since it can easily be applied to me, I thought I’d share.

Confession time – I have never texted a message, opened a text message, Twittered, or have looked at anyone’s Facebook, nor do I plan on ever doing so! I begrudgingly accepted a cell phone when the “boss” gave me one that came free with our family plan. Other than the inside of my pocket, I have never taken a picture with said cell phone.

Now that you know where I’m coming from, you can understand my glee when I was forwarded the info on the “DO NOT CALL REGISTRY”. Evidently, cell phones will be up for grabs by telemarketers this month, but you can call 1- 888 – 382-1222 and take your phone number off their lists! Google “National Do Not Call Registry” and you will be sent to the government site where this can be done on line. The phone number above will only remove the phone you are using at the time of the call.

Maybe dealing with comics all these years (my 30th year associated with Captain Blue Hen, plus a year with The Stale Gum Trading Company and 5 years of doing and promoting comic conventions prior) has prevented me from becoming a complete curmudgeon. I still enjoy comics and that crazy rock and roll. That’s why, depending on how much snow we get, I’ll be at J B McGinnes on Friday night and The Logan House on Saturday listening to the band voted “Best Band To Party With” – CUBANE. If you can’t make it, and you have faith in the weatherman, you will need something to occupy yourself while snowed in. So, get your provisions in NOW! Captain Blue Hen opens at noon on Friday. Stock up on trades and then go get your milk and bread!
