Nerds Unite to Bring Holiday Cheer to Children

CBH and Days of Knights Join Forces for a Toy Drive to Gather Presents for Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital

Captain Blue Hen Comics delivered hundreds of toys to Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware on December 22, 2009. The Toy Drive was a success on every level. Our regular customers and folks we have never seen before brought donations of new toys to the store every day between December 5th and 21st. Days of Knights, Newark’s gaming store, partnered with us for the Toy Drive, having their own major weekend event that garnered nearly half the donations. Children at A.I. duPont Hospital opened new toys on Christmas Day.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of our customers,” said Kita Roberts, the organizer of Captain Blue Hen’s Toy Drive, “We pulled up to the hospital in a van packed top to bottom with toys.”
