Things that have nothing to do with comics!

blueparrotlogoBlue Parrot – good vibes, great music, amazing food. The Blue Parrot Restaurant on Union St. in Wilmington is one of my favorite restaurants in Delaware. It’s always loud and crowded, so if that’s not your thing, don’t bother. If you can handle it though, bring a bib, your going to need it (unless your one of those people that doesn’t eat while in public…sorry dude). The menu is the most authentic Cajun in the area. My best advice is to go with some friends and stick to ordering a bunch on the app menu. You get to try a lot and don’t limit the experience to one dish. What you can’t leave without trying – the perogies. Yes, I said perogies. These simple perogies sit in a white cream andouille sauce. Hello Love. 5 out of 5 totally yummy in the tummy chicken heads.

licd_20080509Least I Could Do - A web comic for the rest of us. From the same people that bring you Looking for Group, Least I Could Do is the hilarious day to day ‘adventures’ of a not so unrealistic male. Rayne, who lives in his own fantasy world, covers topics most of us will enjoy – comics, work, bars, friendship, and women…mostly women. All of it is mostly visions of grandeur being told through priceless perspective. Give it a try. Read some archives. Giggle like a schoolgirl. 5 out of 5 chicken heads (may not be suitable for readers of a younger age).

holiday-shopping-cartHoliday Bargains – Yeah, I like the holidays, so bite me. For many people I know moneys tight this year. For me and my family it is. I have taken this opportunity to be extra cheap. I am a super savvy deal shopper who won’t pay full price for anything (why should you these days) but I have noticed that a lot of stores are really enticing customers with great deals! Last week Toys R Us had stacks of board games for $3.99. This week I saw an ad at Kmart for a bed set for $19.99 – any size. Really, impress someone by giving an awesome gift this season, but be smart about it! There are crazy low wild discounts and savings popping up, and its not even Thanksgiving yet. If you need suggestions, I am a holiday squirrel and I have a pile of nuts. 5 out of 5 chicken heads if your doing it right.

Macys_Parade.134133438_stdThanksgiving Day Parades. A musical production with giant balloons … not quite what it used to be. I am a fan of waking up on Thanksgiving morning and sitting in front of the TV in my PJs watching flipping between the local channels to watch the parades. Nothing says the holidays are here like the Thanksgiving Day Parades (though, according to Comast.net, its the Victoria Secret Fashion show that announce the holidays). Someone else is prolly cooking, so enjoy some good old fashioned entertainment in between the musical productions of Rent or whatever else is hot on Broadway this year. 3 out of 5 chicken heads (because really, it isn’t what is used to be).

farmville-pacman-ghostFacebook Farmville. Its addictive and not even fun. Don’t do it. Teach your children not to do it. 1 out of 5 chicken heads because really it isn’t even fun. Be my (and Dave’s) neighbor please.

    Dave’s Take:

Least I Could Do is VERY funny.

I have a soft spot for Thanksgiving Day parades–on TV! You’ll never catch me on the street in the crowds.

Farmville. I was tricked into Farmville b/c my wife needed another neighbor. Now I am addicted. And it is not fun. I just cannot stop doing it b/c it rewards me by advancement and it feeds into self-competitiveness. Geez.
