CUBANE tonight! eBay tomorrow! Pearl Jam on the 31st
I messed up and did not post an announcement that Delaware’s foremost original rock band, CUBANE, was playing at J B McGinnes last Saturday night. The Joe Trainor Trio opened with Joe sitting in on keyboards and vocals for a few of CUBANE’s songs later. For those not aware, Joe and CUBANE’s lead singer, Shawn, are brothers and part of the incredibly talented Trainor family. If you missed the gig, we have good news: CUBANE is playing locally 3 more times this month!
Tonight, Friday, Oct. 9th, catch them at Bootleggers On McDade Blvd. It’s pretty easy to find – take the Blue Rt (476) exit off I95 and immediately bear right for McDade Blvd. before actually getting on Rt 476. Turn left on McDade, back toward Chester and Bootleggers is on the left in the corner of a shopping center about a half mile down the road.
Next Saturday, Oct 17th, they are playing at the Pale Dog on Rt. 896, in the Four Seasons Shopping Center, across from Glasgow HS.
And, to finish off the month, they will be back at J B McGinnes (Rt 141 in the Basin Road Shopping Center – just up from Wm Penn HS) on Friday, Oct 30th
If you have followed these blogs about CUBANE, you might have noticed that these venues have hosted them frequently and on the key weekend spots. There must be a reason. First of all, they are really good; and secondly, they bring a nice crowd – both in size and behavior. Remember, they were voted “Best Band to Party With”. Come out and see why! Not to brag (too late), but you will see a former winner of the “Best Bass Player” award in the Philadelphia Music Awards. Now, there usually is a cover. One last item for now. I have access to 3 seats to the sold-out Pearl Jam Concert on the 31st!. It’s Pearl Jam, it’s Halloween, and it is the very last event EVER at the Spectrum, for they are tearing it down afterward! Pearl Jam knows it and expect them to tear it up that night! The seats are facing the stage, although up high. Section 405, Row 5, seats 15, 16, & 17. Asking price: $150 per seat, or all three for $400 (compare with StubHub where you pay extra fees). These are hard tickets and in hand. Cash (preferred), PayPal, or credit card (No AmEx). Act quickly as these are going to be advertised locally. I will have them with me at the shop on Saturday, if not sold already.
