Local Band Killed Michael Jackson!
Ripped from the headlines – cue the Law & Order theme song! No, this is not a headline from one of the tabloids at the checkout lane in Walmarts, BUT, will it be?
Rumors are flying all over the place. Every news station is giving this the full treatment. Did he O-D? Did he have a heart attack? The Reverend Jesse has already inserted himself in it with a call for a separate autopsy, even though we haven’t heard the results from the official one, yet!
Here’s what we DO KNOW: Delaware’s premiere original rock band, CUBANE, is definitely connected somehow. Although CUBANE plays their originals (their 14 song debut CD, C8H8, is available at Captain Blue Hen Comics and all shows) at gigs, they will throw in a cover from time to time. They ended their last two shows with a new cover song – a CUBANE rock version of “Billy Jean.” Their treatment of it brought the house down both times! Now, the question is: Did Michael get wind of it, and, if so, how did he react? Did he need to calm his nerves? Did it break his heart?
Rumors can start and spread quickly on the web. Any truth to the story that Sir Elton has requested that CUBANE NOTcover any of his songs?
Something’s going on as venues are scrambling to book these guys. You can catch CUBANE Friday night (7/3) at Doc Watson’s in Philly, Tuesday night (7/7) at The Note in West Chester (the new club owned by Bamm of Jackass), and another return engagement at Bootleggers (MacDade Blvd in Chester) on Friday 7/10. All sets are scheduled to start at approximately10:00 PM. Go to www.cubaneband.com for more info.
Don’t forget, if you’re going to the Doc Watson’s gig this Friday night, don’t over-sleep the next day!! That’s our Monster Sale and Flea Market/Collectibles Show!
