Whatcha doing 4th of July? Hows about making some cash?
We know, we know, July 4th weekend is a time when most people are off, but actually MOST people don’t go to the beach. Captain Blue Hen Comics will be open and we’re giving our customers an extra reason to stop by – we’re having a COLLECTIBLES SHOW/FLEA MARKET on Saturday, July 4th! Join us – set up a table or two, even!
That day, the whole parking lot will be available to us, since our immediate neighbors will be closed. Spaces can be reserved NOW on a “first PAID – first served” basis, with our CBH “regulars” getting choice up through June 27th. After that, we will call people on our waiting list – it has started already. Since the majority of our exhibitors will be members/collectors, we anticipate this being basically a collectibles show; however, items are NOT restricted to collectibles – bring that stuff clogging up your home. If you haven’t used it in the past year, you probably never will again – get rid of it!
Below is a copy of the info and regulations regarding this event. If interested in setting up, rush on down ASAP! Even if not planning on taking a space, mark your calendar as there will definitely be bargains and interesting items to be had!
Captain Blue Hen Comics & Entertainment 4th of July Collectibles/Flea Market Space Rental Agreement
What: An outdoor collectibles/flea market gathering
When: Saturday, July 4th, 2009 from 9:00AM – 2:00 PMish (set-up starting at 8:00 AM)
There is NO Rain date. In the event of inclement weather, space fees will be returned in the form of credit at Captain Blue Hen Comics & Entertainment
Where: The parking lot of the Market East Shops @ 280 E. Main St Newark, DE
Who: “Regulars” (CBH members and weekly customers) will be given the first opportunity to reserve a space by paying in advance. Specific spaces will be assigned in the order of paid fees. A chart will be available for this selection process. After June 27th, we will release spaces to those on our waiting list.
Why: It’s 4th of July, weather should be decent. We’re not going anywhere special, and even so, it ends early – still time for that barbecue and go to the fireworks display. No mud or dust to contend with like other flea outdoor markets. We’re right on Main St, so we should get exposure and lots of drive by sightings. Captain Blue Hen Comics will do the advertising for us. We might move some “stuff” and make a few bucks!
Whrules:
1). An initial “space” is defined as two (2) adjacent parking spots in the Market East Shops parking lot in front of the Captain Blue Hen Comics store at 280 E. Main St. Newark, DE. It is required that one of these spots be used by the renter for the vehicle used to transport the items to the flea market. The vehicle is to be parked within and parallel to the lines of the marked spaces. Note: Renter is to provide his/her own tables, chairs and/or displays and they must not protrude outside of the boundaries of the parking spaces assigned. A maximum of one additional space may be rented and is defined as one adjacent parking spot to the first two assigned. Naturally, a vehicle is not expected to be parked here.
2). A fee of $15 for the initial space will be collected upon reservation and $10 for an additional space, if desired. Current (as of 6/4/09) members of CBH Comics receive a $5 discount on the initial space fee.
3). Items to be sold are NOT limited to “collectibles” per se; however, CBH Comics reserves the right to restrict any “adult-oriented” or objectionable material as defined by the owner
4) By signing below, the renter agrees to not hold Captain Blue Hen Comics & Entertainment, its owners, or its representatives or the landlords liable for any material or physical losses or damages incurred in conjunction with this event.
