Quickreview: Battle for the Cowl by Tony Daniel
I was really excited when this series started. All of the ads for the Batman: Battle for the Cowl mini-series led me to believe that there was going to be some great mystery, and some kind of major revelation at the end. Unfortunately that was not to be so. I think this project should have been at least 5-6 issues instead of only 3. It’s like going to see an action movie where the director was told to cut a two and a half hour movie down to just ninety minutes. The fight scenes and the flashy special effects are there, but the story is off at some exclusive resort in the tropics sipping pina colada. Granted, Tony Daniel is an artist, and the art is good here, but art by itself isn’t enough.
I give Battle for the Cowl two very confused chickens out of five.
