Time to Confess, so Paul will make a contest out of it
For our faithful readers of this site, you’ve gotten an incite into some of the likes and dislikes of Dave and Kita recently. Jesse the Intern has been given the task of reviewing comics that perhaps he wouldn’t have read, had not Dave given him the assignment – I think we may have a convert. Anyway, I have been silent so far. Some of you have been customers of Captain Blue Hen Comics since the beginning – over 28 years ago and the question is: How well do you know Paul and his likes and dislikes?
Well, here’s a bomb for ya – I watch American Idol every week. OK, it’s now in the open, so let’s complete the cleansing process!!
Anyone who has visited the shop, Captain Blue Hen -”Comics, and so much more!,” for any length of time knows that I like to run puzzles, brain teasers, auctions, and contests. Here’s another one: an American Idol contest.
Entry forms can be found at the shop starting Monday, March 23rd. Your entry must be submitted BEFORE the show is down to only 7 contestants left (as this is being written, there are 10 left). Your job: try to accurately predict the order of the final 7. Scoring will be done as follows: First, you must pick the over-all winner. Naturally we will not have this result unitl 6 weeks after entrieshave closed. Some of you will know you’re out of it earlier though if your choice for winer has been eliminated earlier. I will post weekly updates on the website. Next, we go to the runner-up selections and continue backward until a tie is broken between remaining entries. Let’s assume that we have 3 people who correctly called the order of the final 4, but all missed #5: in that event, we go to the 4 questions below, and then, only if necessary, earliest entry. (My contest – my rules!) All entry forms will have the final 10 listed. This year seems to have an exceptional group, so it won’t be easy. No purchase is necessary to enter. One entry per person, although all family members are encouraged to enter; however, the winner must claim their prize in person.
To encourage everyone to view the website, there’s a catch alluded to above. Below there are 4 “pop culture” lists that represent Paul’s (sorry for the third person reference) interests. One item in each group of ten does not belong. In order for an entry to be considered, one MUST guess at the wrong item from each list. To win the contest, you do not necessarily have to get these answers correct, but all 4 of your answers MUST be among those listed below. That means you MUST go to our website to qualify to enter. Try to get these right though, because in the event of there still being a tie, the total number of correct answers to these four could determine the winner.
Below are 4 “Pop Culture” lists. Each list of 10 contains 9 items that I enjoy plus one that I have no interest in. Your job is to pick the one that does not belong and write it on your entry form.
