A Quick Review of Transmetropolitan #1
Intern’s Corner
Ok, so I’m going to go ahead and use this to write about comics and such whenever I get a chance. I will review whatever comics are handed to me by Dave, Joe, or Kita. Earlier this week, Dave handed me the Transmetropolitan #1 Special Edition. This comic is part of Vertigo’s “After Watchmen . . . What’s Next?” series.
Transmetropolitan is the story of Spider Jerusalem, a journalist who left the “civilized” world to live in the mountains. After a book publisher threatens to sue him for not fulfilling his contract, Spider is forced to make his way back to the city and find a job as a journalist while he works on writing the last few books of his contracts. Will he be able to cope with city life once again? Guess you’ll have to read it to find out. Oh and did I mention that Spider is crazy. He pulls guns on people, blows things up, and is just outright crazy. The artistry is colorful and well detailed. The first issue was a good read and this is a series that I could get into.
