Dave’s Stack – New Comics Shipping Feb 18

Well, here we are again with more of the the provocative CBH.com feature, Dave’s Stack!

Dave’s Stack is gives you a glance at the weekly comics-reading habits of one of the guys behind the counter. I get to see what you read, so isn’t it fair that you get to see what I’m going to purchase this week?

In case you missed it, last week’s Stack actually spawned a comments conversation.

That’s right friends, someone checked out my list and told me what I missed and what I should have put back on the shelf.

Have a look at everything that’s coming in on Wednesday on our New Comics page. What’s in your stack?

    Hilariously, the link doesn’t work.

  2. Osiris says:

Yeah, I got none of this. I would pick up the X-Men Essential eventually but I already have the meat of it in the Marvel Legends: Neal Adams X-Men trade or whatever its called.

I know that I always bust a gut when a link doesn’t work. I was rolling on the floor in tears for 15 minutes before I could fix it. Even now, thinking about the link not working before, I just peed my pants.

I know who you are Osiris, so I know why you don’t cotton to some of the stuff like Dark Avengers. I won’t try to convince you that a Bendis book is good because that would be a waste of time. But The Great Unknown was a fantastic and weird bit of paranoid science fiction. Mysterius: The Unfathomable is perfect for anyone who likes the new Doctor Who and The Dresden Files books. (And even if you’re not, since I’m not a big fan of either–they’re OK.) You might not like the art though, which is reminiscent of Mort Drucker and Mike Ploog.

Either way, I’m not necessarily trying to convince you that my pull list is the best. I’m just sharing for the sake of sharing and so everyone can get to know my comics tastes. That way you can have more information behind my recommendations whether they come on the website (we’ll be doing more reviews in the near future) or in the store.

You threw spitballs at the kids during “show & tell” in elementary school, didn’t you, Osiris?

  4. Osiris says:

    Sarcasm is mean.

  5. Dave says:

It’s all in fun. Don’t worry everybody, I know he can handle it.

  6. Osiris says:

    You make me sad.
