‘Dark Knight’ Re-Release Set for January 23rd

Warner Bros. has announced that it will re-release Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight to theaters and IMAX on January 23rd, just one day after the Oscar nominations are announced, but more than six weeks after the release of The Dark Knight on DVD.  The film has earned $530.3 million domestically and $465.9 million overseas, just $4 million short of a billion dollars worldwide.

The theatrical re-release will serve a dual purpose of the keeping the film in the public eye for Oscar consideration, and providing the final push to drive its total box office over the billion-dollar mark.

Warner Bros.’ Dan Fellman explained, “We want to provide one more opportunity for moviegoers to experience it on the big screen as it was meant to be seen.”
