Clean out your pantry – After Thanksgiving Sale!

The holiday season is FAST approaching and if you are anything like me – the mall and other giant complexes with lots of stores and little parking are just out of the picture. So spend Black Friday weekend with us! Bring in a canned good and you will receive 10% off of trade paper backs* and supplies plus a sackful of manager’s specials. All of the food collected will be going to the Newark Food Bank. Do something nice, avoid the chaos of the mall, and start your holiday shopping with what you really want!

J.K. Rowling Tales of the Beedle the Bard

It didn’t take J.K. Rowling to get back into the Potterverse. Captain Blue Hen Comics will be getting in her new book The Tales of the Beedle Bard. Rowling is donating proceeds to the Children’s Voice campaign an advocacy group for children’s rights. Don’t want to stand in line at the big box book store? Captain Blue Hens Annual Showing of my favorite movie, A Christmas Story!

Why? Its on TV for over 48 hours. Yes, we know. But, how often are you really going to get to see it on the biggest screen in Delaware with popcorn and no holiday doldrums or commercials to interrupt your viewing. Come enjoy a family classic with out worrying for a day about which wrapping paper matches which gift bag. Our special showing is Saturday, December 13th at 11 am at the Newark Cinema Center in the Newark Shopping Center on Main Street.

Tickets are $1 or a canned food item for charity. We look forward to seeing you there – pink bunny suite and all!
