‘Preacher’ the Motion Picture

Columbia Studios picked up movie rights to the Vertigo/DC comic series Preacher, created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Sam Mendes (American Beauty) is set to direct.

HBO recently cancelled plans for a Preacher television series.

Mendes has previously directed a well-received comic adaptation, Road to Perdition.
