Don Cheadle Replaces Terrence Howard In ‘Iron Man 2′

Don Cheadle, not Terrence Howard, who will play Jim Rhodes in the sequel to the blockbuster Iron Man.  Jim “Rhodey” Rhodes stepped in for Tony Stark as Iron Man in the Marvel comics and eventually became the new armored hero, War Machine. The Rhodey role will likely be a meatier one in Iron Man 2 as director Jon Favreau has stated that he wants to get into the War Machine story.

Unfortunately, it won’t be Howard who gets to enjoy the expanded role as negotiations between Howard and the studio “fell through over financial differences reasons.” Academy Award-nominee Don Cheadle will round out the cast that is already chock full of A-list actors like stars Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts).
