Steve Dillon Reports on His Visit to Captain Blue Hen

Steve Dillon, artist of Wolverine: Origins and Preacher, made CBH a stop on his Hero Initiative tour.

Steve himself gave this report on the ComicsPRO blog:

“The signing at Captain Blue Hen went really well. Joe and his crew had raised a rake of dosh (that’s English for ‘loads of money’) for Hero before I’d even uncapped a Sharpie. There was a really good crowd and, once again, my drawing arm was given a good workout with a few people going round for a second time. We finally finished up at around 9-30 and retired for beer, food and conversation about strange movies. It’s been great to be able to meet the fans and chat with them in a relaxed environment at all the stores I’ve been to so far. Conventions just don’t have the same feel. Getting to talk to the people at the sharp end (i.e. the retailers and their staff) has been a great bonus for me on this tour as, without their efforts, there’d be no market for the stuff that guys like me are doing.”

We enjoyed having Steve Dillon here and having his fans join us. Hero Initiative appreciates your support. Together we raised over a thousand dollars for the organization. It was a fun way to give back to people who have given us so much enjoyment throughout the years.

A big thank you to Mr. Dillon and to all of you who participated in the auction, the fund-raising and the signing!

A Big Thank You to all who helped in the HERO INITIATIVE Auction!

For you procastinators out there, the HERO INITIATIVE auction is history! Although the live portion of the auction was sparsely attended, those who showed up knew that there were bargains to be had and took advantage of it. Overall, 29 different people participated and most of the lots found a new home. The following three people were generous enough to just donate items to the cause and Captain Blue Hen Comics and Hero Initiative want to express our appreciation: Shane Harris (representing FWF wrestling - Funkamania 5 is October 5th at the Christiana Fire Hall), James Donaldson, and a special thanks to Josh Bryan for really supporting the cause (check out Josh’s Punisher display in the front showcases - just in time for Steve Dillon’s visit this Wednesday -Thanks, again, Josh!)
