Steve Dillon Signing: How Can You Help Hero Initiative?
Artist Steve Dillon (Punisher, Preacher, Wolverine Origins) will appear at Captain Blue Hen Comics Wednesday, September 24 from 4pm to 7pm. His signing tour benefits the Hero Initiative organization.
Hero Initiative is the only not-for-profit dedicated to helping comic book creators in need.
Hero Initiative creates a financial safety net for creators in need of emergency medical aid, support for the necessities of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It is a way to give back to people who have given us so much enjoyment throughout the years.
And they’re helping to bring Steve Dillon all the way from England to Captain Blue Hen!
What can you do to help Hero Initiative?
Donate Cash - Now through September 24 you can throw in your change or put a couple of bills in the collection box at the counter in CBH.
Silent Auction – September 10th to 21st
- Donate or contribute an item for auction: You can make money and help Hero Initiative too. Deadline is 9/8/08 to submit an item for auction. Ask for details at CBH.
- Bid early, often, and generously: There will be comics, prints, karate lessons, wrestling tickets and moreup for auction. A portion of all auction sales goes to Hero Initiative.
50/50 Raffle - August 27 to September 24
- $1 per chance and you get a comic! Half the money will go to Hero Initiative and the winner gets the rest as a Captain Blue Hen Gift Certificate. Winner drawn during the Steve Dillon signing on 9/24.
- Plus for each chance you can pick a comic from the raffle bins!
