Diamond’s BookShelf website is another innovative effort to foster the growth and acceptance of comics and graphic novels, providing a wealth of information and encouraging librarians and teachers to visit their local comic shops. Additionally, it is an excellent tool for retailers currently in partnership with local schools and libraries, or for those who wish to explore such opportunities.
BookShelf is designed for teachers, librarians and anyone interested in the educational utility of comic books and graphic novels. Created with the understanding that the education market has needs separate from other market outlets, the website features articles and title recommendations specifically fashioned with teachers and librarians in mind. In addition, BookShelf sends out a monthly newsletter, which serves as an easily accessible graphic novel resource. Each issue of the BookShelf newsletter features the latest comic industry news of relevance to educators and librarians, lists of new and upcoming graphic novels from PREVIEWS, upcoming events and special features for schools and libraries.
Recently added BookShelf features include new core lists of recommended titles categorized by age rating, as well as an expanded section featuring the latest reviews from Library Journal, School Library Journal, Publisher’s Weekly and industry professional Kat Kan.
To learn what’s new for comics in the growing education and library markets, retailers are encouraged to visit http://BookShelf.DiamondComics.com and sign up for the monthly BookShelf newsletter.
