Comics Movie News Round-Up: Transformers in Philly? Iron Man Movie Moves?

Let’s see…I believe my best way to catch your attention is with my first bit of comic book/pop culture news. TRANSFORMERS has listed Philadelphia as one of their last four cities they are looking at to film in for the sequel. See I knew that would drag you in. Nothing has been confirmed yet but the Executive Director of the Greater Philadelphia Film Office revealed that Avatar also would be filmed in Philadelphia.
Marvel and Paramount Studios are thinking over the idea of releasing Iron Man on April 30 (Wednesday) instead of May 2 (Friday).
Bryan Singer has been confirmed as coming back to helm Superman: Man of Steel.
Christopher Nolan was named Director of the Year at ShoWest. Also Universal is planned to unveil new footage of Incredible Hulk and Hellboy II: the Golden Army. Also at ShoWest this week released were the new posters for Wanted, Spirit, Iron Man, as well as a bag of goodies given away in a Coraline (Neil Gaiman) bag.
And as my last little tidbit of news for this week…it’s a little old and a lot of people may have already heard it. Many of you love the MERC with the MOUTH like I do, and many sites have reported that Deadpool, Blob, Stryker, Gambit, and Lady Deathstrike will be in the Wolverine movie. Those same sites are reporting that Deadpool will be played by Ryan Reynolds. The comic book movie gods have shined brightly on this one. Seeing how it may be the best casting done in a comic book movie since Patrick Stewart as Professor X.

Apologies to Josh–he had a version of this ready last week, when the news was newer–it’s me who is late in posting it.
