Cloverfield’s Goddard Writes Dark Horse’s Buffy

January 27th, 2008 | Dave | Comics News

Drew Goddard, screenwriter of Cloverfield, the J.J. Abrams production currently storming the box office, will write Dark Horse’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer starting with #12.

This series continues the adventures of Buffy Summers as a comic book version of “Season Eight” of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV program. It picks up months after the seventh season’s explosive conclusion. Goddard made his scriptwriting debut on TV’s seventh season of Buffy and returns to Joss Whedon’s franchise with issue #12, joined by artist Georges Jeanty. Goddard begins his four-issue “Wolves at the Gate” storyline here, sending Buffy, Dawn and the rest of the vampire-hunting team to Tokyo to battle nocturnal bloodsuckers with particularly bizarre powers.
