Marvel’s Omega the Unknown by Novelist Lethem Makes EW’s “Must List”
Check out Omega the Unknown #2 on sale starting November 7.
Novelist Jonathan Lethem’s revival of Marvel Comics’ Omega the Unknown landed on Entertainment Weekly’s (EW’s) “Must List”.
Three decades after a teenaged Lethem–the critically acclaimed author of The Fortress of Solitude–discovered and fell in love with Steve Gerber & Mary Skrenes’ innovative series, the writer puts his own unique spin on the iconic champion.
Presenting his first comic book work, Lethem and co-writer Karl Rusnak resurrect one of Gerber’s most enigmatic creations. The limited series centers on a teenage prodigy from Washington Heights and his relationship with Omega, a mysterious and silent super-hero from another world. Illustrated by Farel Dalyrymple & Paul Hornschemeier, the 10-part saga updates the cult-classic story, infusing the ’70s epic with a 21st century dynamic and updating the sci-fi elements to reflect a more technologically advanced era. Fans of Gerber’s original run won’t want to overlook the Omega the Unknown Classic trade paperback available now at CBH.
