Fred Hembeck Fans Rejoice!
The Nearly Complete Essential Hembeck Archives Omnibus
A 900-page collection of material written and drawn by cartoonist Fred Hembeck over the past three decades will be published by Image Comics. The book is divided into seven sections including Hembeck’s early work, his 1980′s Fantaco collections, the Dateline:@#$% strips that didn’t make it into the Fantaco books, work for the The Comic Reader, Comic Scene and The Amazing Heroes Swimsuit specials, 80 pages of mostly original Hembeck characters, 210 pages of the 1990s Dateline: @#$% from Comics Buyer’s Guide, plus a section for his most recent works.
The Nearly Complete Essential Hembeck Archives Omnibus, featuring a foreword by Stan Lee, an introduction by Jim Salicrup and an afterword by Al Gordon, comes out in February for just $25.
