That’s right, before it was a feature film, 30 Days of Night was a horror comic from writer Steve Niles and artist Ben Templesmith–a vampire tale unlike any other. Every year the Alaskan town of Barrow–located within the Arctic Circle–is plunged into darkness for 30 long days. A gang of vampires sees the extended night as an opportunity to feed at their leisure. So, as the last bit of sun fades below the horizon in Barrow, it is up to the town’s husband-and-wife sheriff team to stand between the survivors and certain destruction.
Directed by David Slade (Hard Candy), and produced by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, the feature film stars Josh Hartnett and Melissa George as the heroic Eben and Stella Olemaun, Ben Foster as the mysterious stranger and Danny Huston as Marlow, the leader of the bloodthirsty pack of vampires.
