Jim Shooter Returns to the Legion Plus Weekly Comics Continue
The return of legendary Legion of Super-Heroes writer Jim Shooter to the team and a third weekly series following Countdown were among the announcements made by DC Comics at panels during the Baltimore Comic Con Sept. 8 and 9.
Shooter, who published his first Legion story at age 13 in the 1960s, will returning as the title’s regular writer as the team marks its 50th anniversary in 2008, one of two anniversaries—along with Superman’s 80th—DC is celebrating next year. Shooter will be working on the current version of the Legion.
DC’s Dan DiDio also confirmed that there will be a third weekly series following the conclusion of Countdown, with work on the title starting soon. It will be a “complete reinvention of the format,†he said.
