‘Secret Invasion’ is Marvel’s Next Big Event
At the Baltimore Comic-Con Marvel Comics announced its next crossover event, ‘Secret Invasion’. The eight-issue Secret Invasion miniseries, written by Brian Michael Bendis, will debut in the spring of 2008. Secret Invasion will tie in with happenings in a number of other Marvel comics, though readers will be able to enjoy the miniseries on its own. Lenil Yu is penciling the miniseries.
Bendis teased the storyline, which involves infiltration by the shape-changing Skrull, in his very first issue of New Avengers and more recently in New Avengers #31, which revealed that Elektra was a Skrull. Bendis said that the Secret Invasion series will fundamentally change the Marvel Universe as much as Civil War did.
